Efforts continue: #FreetheDegasTwo

On June 24th, a group of 20 climate activists staged a powerful action at The Met. We stood up for justice, for Joanna Smith and Tim Martin, who face unjust charges for their peaceful protest at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC on April 27th. Their case serves as a chilling example of the systemic repression endured by the climate movement, simply for advocating urgent action on the climate and ecological emergency. Read about our action in publications such as Hyperallergic and Artnet News.

But we won't stop there. We need YOUR voice, YOUR passion, and YOUR presence at The Met on July 8th to make an even greater impact. This call is for ALL members of the public who care about the future of our planet. Just like Joanna and Tim, we aim to make museum-goers pause and deeply reflect on the contradiction of admiring art museums as symbols of culture and civilization while our planet is engulfed in flames. The survival and preservation of the natural world are essential for nurturing human creativity, expression, and cultural development. Click here for the action details.
