New Rebel Welcome Week - MULTIPLE EVENTS!

Our working groups invite you to open New Rebel Welcome meetings to introduce the work each group does, discuss upcoming projects, identify open roles and share ideas. The first half of the meeting will be an opportunity for introductions, learning more about how our organizing structure works and identifying specific ways you can get involved. Working groups will conduct regular business in the second half of the meeting.

Not sure which group is the best fit? Try more than one! We’d love to connect and get to know new members better.

*We highly suggest attending an Orientation or a Heading for Extinction (and What To Do About It) talk before attending the meeting(s) of your choice.

The Just Transition group is united by the idea that our future must not only be decarbonized, but also free of the extractive, imperialist dynamics that lead us into this crisis. We aim to center the wisdom and needs of Black people, Indigenous people, people of color, poor communities, and those who bear the starkest brunt of climate injustice in our movement, and actively push for actions that affirm their agency and livelihoods. Our current goals are to reach out to underrepresented communities and show up for other climate justice organizations deep in this work in New York. If that interests you, we'd love to meet you!
