Join us after a triumphant Earth Day filled with global protests and special guests like strategist Margaret Klein Salamon (Climate Emergency Fund) and civil rights lawyer Ron Kuby. Come for community and food—leave with real-world knowledge on how to stand up for our country and our planet in these momentous times.
This event is pay-what-you-can, with a sliding scale—no one turned away for lack of funds.
WHERE WE ARE
We are not living in the same world we were in back in 2019. When Extinction Rebellion, Greta Thunberg, and the Sunrise Movement burst onto the global stage, we were focused on pressuring governments to change course and stick to the 1.5°C warming target.
Now, just six years later, we’re already exceeding that threshold—and authoritarian regimes around the world are erasing climate policy altogether. In the U.S., peaceful protesters are being disappeared, and coal plants are being reopened.
NOW WHAT?
While this outrageous backsliding sends shockwaves through our movement, we can still use this bull@$&! to our advantage. Join us as we chart a way forward with some of the brightest minds in the field—and reposition ourselves for a better world.
This event is also a fundraiser for our legal defense efforts stemming from Earth Day and other actions. Donate here: xrr.nyc/legal
