This bill may be our last, best chance at preventing catastrophic climate change, and we take seriously the sidelining of important climate provisions like the Clean Electricity Payment Program. New York Court Orders Climate Activists to “Good Citizen” Classes

New York, NY – Extinction Rebellion activists appeared in New York County Criminal Court on Wednesday, October 6th, to face charges for their direct action protests against Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Citibank, the largest financiers of fossil fuel projects responsible for the climate crisis, which took place on September 17th.

Extinction Rebellion NYC Today Carried Out Direct Actions At Three Of The Largest Funders of Fossil Fuel Infrastructure

This morning, Extinction Rebellion NYC simultaneously carried out direct action protests against three banks that are the largest investors in fossil fuel infrastructure, directly financing the causes of the climate crisis. At the headquarters of Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and Citibank in Manhattan, Extinction Rebellion NYC activists blocked entrances, set up tripods and even (at the JPMorgan Chase site) dropped a boat to carry the message to New Yorkers and the world, that these banks are funding the cause of the climate crisis.
